An Arithmetic Characterization of 2-Generated Numbers

Group Theory 2025-08-25 v1

Abstract

A group GG is said to be kk-generated if it has a generating set with kk elements. A positive integer nn is called a \emph{2-generated number} if every group of order nn is 2-generated. In this article, we establish an arithmetic characterization of 2-generated numbers expressed in terms of the prime factorization of nn.
