A note On subgroups in a division ring that are left algebraic over a division subring

Abstract

Let DD be a division ring with center FF and KK a division subring of DD. In this paper, we show that a non-central normal subgroup NN of the multiplicative group DD^* is left algebraic over KK if and only if so is DD provided FF is uncountable and contained in KK. Also, if KK is a field and the nn-th derived subgroup D(n)D^{(n)} of DD^{*} is left algebraic of bounded degree dd over KK, then dimFDd2\dim_FD\le d^2.
