We prove that the existence of time delay defined in terms of sojourn times, as well as its identity with Eisenbud-Wigner time delay, is a common feature of two Hilbert space quantum scattering theory. All statements are model-independent.

Extending previous works on the spectrum of QCD_2, we now investigate the 2D analogue of meson-baryon scattering. We use semi-classical methods, perturbing around classical soliton solutions. We start with the abelian case, corresponding to…

An imaging system is proposed for matter-wave functions that is based on producing a quadratic phase modulation on the wavefunction of a charged particle, analogous to that produced by a space or time lens. The modulation is produced by…

The Aharonov--Bohm effect is considered as a scattering event with nonrelativistic charged particles of the wavelength which is less than the transverse size of an impenetrable magnetic vortex. The quasiclassical WKB method is shown to be…

We study the space and properties of global and local observables for radiation emitted in the scattering of a massive scalar field in gauge and gravitational plane-wave backgrounds, in both the quantum and classical theory. We first…

The first part of the paper is devoted to diffraction phenomena that can be expressed by fractional Fourier transforms whose orders are real numbers. According to a scalar theory, diffraction acts on the amplitude of the electric field as…

The generalized Swift--Hohenberg equation with a quadratic-cubic nonlinearity is used to study the persistence and decay of localized patterns in the presence of time-periodic parametric forcing. A novel resonance phenomenon between the…

We consider a sequence of quantized Lorentzian pulses of non-interacting electrons impinging on a quantum point contact (QPC) and study the waiting time distribution (WTD), for any transmission and any number of pulses. As the degree of…

The resonant scattering of gap solitons (GS) of the periodic nonlinear Schr\"odinger equation with a localized defect which is symmetric under the parity and the time-reversal (PT) symmetry, is investigated. It is shown that for suitable…

Eisenbud-Wigner-Smith delay and the Larmor time give different estimates for the duration of a quantum scattering event. The difference is most pronounced in the case where de-Broglie wavelength is large compared to the size of the…
