A combinatorial characterization of measurable filters on a countable set is found. We apply it to the problem of measurability of the intersection of nonmeasurable filters.

Under MA_{omega_1} every uncountable almost disjoint family is either anti-Luzin or has an uncountable Luzin subfamily. This fails under CH. Related properties are also investigated.

It is proved that the existence of a countable extremally disconnected Boolean topological group containing a family of open subgroups whose intersection has empty interior implies the existence of a rapid ultrafilter.

We prove universal compact-measurability of the intersection of a compact-measurable Souslin family of closed-valued multifunctions. This generalizes previous results on intersections of measurable multifunctions. We introduce the unique…

Using a new concept of conglomerated filter we demonstrate in a purely combinatorial way that none of Erd\"{o}s-Ulam filters or summable filters can be generated by a single statistical measure and consequently they cannot be represented as…

We give several topological/combinatorial conditions that, for a filter on $\omega$, are equivalent to being a non-meager $\mathsf{P}$-filter. In particular, we show that a filter is countable dense homogeneous if and only if it is a…

We consider a dichotomy for analytic families of trees stating that either there is a colouring of the nodes for which all but finitely many levels of every tree are nonhomogeneous, or else the family contains an uncountable antichain. This…

We define a family of a (non-principal) ultrafilters on N which are, in a sense, far from P-points. We first under reasonable conditions, prove its existence. In a continuation we shall prove that such a point may exist while no P-point…

Given a cardinal $\kappa$ and filters $\mathcal{F}_\alpha$ on $\omega$ for $\alpha\in\kappa$, we will show that if $\prod_{\alpha\in\kappa}\mathcal{F}_\alpha$ is countable dense homogeneous then $\kappa<\mathfrak{p}$ and each…

We continue here the investigation of the relationship between the intersection of a pair of subgroups of a Kleinian group, and in particular the limit set of that intersection, and the intersection of the limit sets of the subgroups. Of…

We throw some light on the question: is there a MAD family (= a family of infinite subsets of N, the intersection of any two is finite) which is completely separable (i.e. any X subseteq N is included in a finite union of members of the…

In this note, we present a conjecture on intersections of set families, and a rephrasing of the conjecture in terms of principal downsets of Boolean lattices. The conjecture informally states that, whenever we can express the measure of a…

Let $\mathcal F\subset 2^{[n]}$ be a family in which any three sets have non-empty intersection and any two sets have at least $38$ elements in common. The nearly best possible bound $|\mathcal F|\le 2^{n-2}$ is proved. We believe that $38$…

A family of perfect matchings of $K_{2n}$ is $t$-$intersecting$ if any two members share $t$ or more edges. We prove for any $t \in \mathbb{N}$ that every $t$-intersecting family of perfect matchings has size no greater than $(2(n-t) -…
