Gribov's scenario of confinement caused by supercritical charges is described and the present status of Gribov's equation for the Green function of light quarks is discussed.
I give a brief description of Gribov's light quark confinement scenario and of the Gribov--Dyson--Schwinger equation for light quarks. It is shown that the Green function obtained from this equation exhibits chiral symmetry breaking.
Gribov's scenario of supercritical charges in QCD is investigated. We perform a numerical study of the corresponding equation for the Green function of light quarks. This is done in an approximation which neglects all pion contributions.…
In a functional approach to QCD the infrared behaviour of Landau gauge Green functions is investigated. It can be proven that the ghost Dyson-Schwinger equation implies the Gribov-Zwanziger horizon condition. Its relation to the Kugo-Ojima…
Some years ago Gribov developed the so-called supercritical light quark confinement scenario. Based on physical arguments he conjectured a drastic change in the analytical properties of the quark propagator when the back-reaction of…
This is the second of the two last papers by V. N. Gribov concluding his 20 year long study of the problem of quark confinement in QCD. In this paper the analytic structure of quark and gluon Green's functions is investigated in the…
We study confinement and chiral symmetry breaking phase transitions for QCD and supersymmetric QCD. The method is based on some justified assumption regarding the behavior of the Green function relevant for the potential between two charges…
We present a derivation of the Gribov equation for the gluon/photon Green's function D(q). Our derivation is based on the second derivative of the gauge-invariant quantity Tr ln D(q), which we interpret as the gauge-boson `self-loop'. By…
Chiral symmetry breaking in QCD leads to the emergence of pions as Goldstone bosons. Their existence in turn affects the Green functions of the theory. Here we study the effect of pion corrections on the light quark's Green function in…
I discuss the chiral dynamics of Gribov's theory of confinement. At a critical coupling $\alpha_s^c$ the light quark vacuum undergoes a series of phase transitions which should be taken into account in the application of chiral perturbation…
In a functional approach to QCD the infrared behaviour of Landau gauge Green functions is investigated. Positivity violation for, and thus confinement of, gluons is demonstrated, and the analytic structure of the gluon propagator is…
Assuming a Gaussian approximation for the QCD gluodynamics, all the nonperturbative physics can be encoded into two parameters: the gluon correlation length $T_g$ and the gluon condensate $G_2$. These parameters are sufficient in order to…
Although nonperturbative functional methods are often associated with low energy Quantum Chromodynamics, contemporary studies indicate that they provide reliable tools to characterize a much wider spectrum of strongly interacting many-body…
The folklore tradition about the QCD phase diagram is that at the chiral restoration phase transition at finite density hadrons are deconfined and there appears the quark matter. We address this question within the only known exactly…
I comment on possible relations of Gribov's ideas on mechanism of confinement with some phenomena in QCD and in supersymmetric gauge theories.
After presenting a brief summary of functional approaches to QCD at vanishing temperatures and densities the application of QCD Green's functions at non-vanishing temperature and vanishing density is discussed. It is pointed out in which…
The system of light quark and heavy anti-quark source is studied in 1+1 QCD in the large $N_C$ limit. Making use of the modified Fock-Schwinger gauge allows to consider simultaneously the spectroscopical problem of the q\bar Q bound states…
A major contribution to the quest of constructing quantum dynamics of non-Abelian fieds is due to V.N. Gribov. Perturbative approach to the colour confinement, both in gluodynamics and the real world, was long considered heretic but is…
The Coulomb gauge model of QCD is studied with the introduction of a confining potential into the scalar part of the vector potential. Using a Green function formalism, we derive the self-energy for this model, which has both scalar and…
Gribov's theory of light quark confinement implies the existence of two kinds of scalar bound states. The phase diagram of the three-flavor QCD is mapped out in the (m_pi-m_K)-plane with help of the SU_L(3)xSU_R(3) linear sigma model…
