We show that normal K3 surfaces with ten cusps exist in and only in characteristic 3. We determine these K3 surfaces according to the degrees of the polarizations. Explicit examples are given.

By a K3-surface with nine cusps I mean a surface with nine isolated double points A_2, but otherwise smooth, such that its minimal desingularisation is a K3-surface. It is shown, that such a surface admits a cyclic triple cover branched…

In this paper, we study the Brill-Noether theory of the normalizations of singular, irreducible curves on a $K3$ surface. We introduce a {\em singular} Brill-Noether number $\rho_{sing}$ and show that if the Picard group of the K3 surface…

Given an elliptic curve ${\mathcal E}$ over a field $K$ it is a challenging problem to write down explicit elements of its endomorphism ring ${\rm End}({\mathcal E});$ the problem amounts to find all possible solutions to a functional…

Let $\mathcal{X}$ be a (projective, geometrically irreducible, nonsingular) algebraic curve of genus $g \ge 2$ defined over an algebraically closed field $\mathbb{K}$ of odd characteristic $p\ge 0$, and let $\rm{Aut}(\mathcal{X})$ be the…

We prove the sharp bound of at most 64 lines on complex projective quartic surfaces (resp. affine quartics) that are not ruled by lines. We study configurations of lines on certain non-K3 surfaces of degree four and give various examples of…

We complete the classification of torsion subgroups $E(K)_{\text{tors}}$ that can occur for an elliptic curve $E/\mathbb{Q}$ over a sextic number field $K$. Previous work determined the complete set of these groups, leaving the existence of…

An Ap\'ery-Fermi K3 surface is a complex K3 surface of Picard number 19 that is birational to a general member of a certain one-dimensional family of affine surfaces related to the Fermi surface in solid-state physics. This K3 surface is…

In each characteristic $p\neq 2, 3$, it was shown in a previous work that the order of an automorphism of a K3 surface is bounded by 66, if finite. Here, it is shown that in each characteristic $p\neq 2, 3$ a K3 surface with a cyclic action…

In this paper, we study the moduli space of quasi-polarized complex K3 surfaces of degree 6 and 8 via geometric invariant theory. The general members in such moduli spaces are complete intersections in projective spaces and we have natural…
