We show that extending an embedding of a graph $\Gamma$ in a surface to an embedding of a Hamiltonian supergraph can be blocked by certain planar subgraphs but, for some subdivisions of $\Gamma$, Hamiltonian extensions must exist.

In an earlier paper we showed that non-split Brauer--Severi curves do not admit full strong exceptional collections. In the present note we extend this observation and prove that there cannot exist full exceptional collections on non-split…

We investigate the combinatorial interplay between automorphisms and opposition in (primarily finite) generalised polygons. We provide restrictions on the fixed element structures of automorphisms of a generalised polygon mapping no chamber…

D. D. Long and A. W. Reid have shown that some compact flat 3-manifold cannot be diffeomorphic to a cusp cross-section of any complete finite volume 1-cusped real hyperbolic 4-manifold. This note concerns the complex hyperbolic case. We…

One can embed arbitrarily many disjoint, non-parallel, non-boundary parallel, incompressible surfaces in any three manifold with at least one boundary component of genus two or greater [4]. This paper proves the contrasting, but not…

In this paper we describe central extensions of some nilpotent Leibniz algebras. Namely, central extensions of the Leibniz algebra with maximal index of nilpotency are classified. Moreover, non-split central extensions of naturally graded…

We establish Grauert--Riemenschneider vanishing for $F$-pure threefolds over a perfect field $k$ of characteristic $p>5$. We apply this to prove Steenbrink vanishing for three-dimensional sharply $F$-pure pairs in characteristic $p>5$. As a…

We prove an extension criterion for codimension one foliations on projective hypersurfaces based on the degree of the foliation and the degree of the hypersurface, and we ensure, in some instances, an isomorphism between the corresponding…

In this paper we characterise with the matrix the complete flag of riemannian extension (see d\'efinition) on a riemannian compact manifold whose metric is bundlelike for any foliation F_{s} of this flag. This study show us that a foliation…

Hempel has shown that the fundamental groups of knot complements are residually finite. This implies that every nontrivial knot must have a finite-sheeted, noncyclic cover. We give an explicit bound, $\Phi (c)$, such that if $K$ is a…
