We prove that there exists an infinite family of 4-regular 4-connected Hamiltonian graphs with a bounded number of Hamiltonian cycles. We do not know if there exists such a family of 5-regular 5-connected Hamiltonian graphs.

In this paper we consider the number of Hamilton cycles in planar cubic graphs of high cyclic edge-connectivity, answering two questions raised by Chia and Thomassen ("On the number of longest and almost longest cycles in cubic graphs", Ars…

A platypus graph is a non-hamiltonian graph for which every vertex-deleted subgraph is traceable. They are closely related to families of graphs satisfying interesting conditions regarding longest paths and longest cycles, for instance…

The existence of Hamiltonian cycles in 1-planar graphs with higher connectivity has attracted considerable attention. Recently, the authors and Dong proved that 4-connected 1-planar chordal graphs are Hamiltonian-connected. In this paper,…

Let $G$ be an $n$-vertex graph obtained by adding chords to a cycle of length $n$. Markstr\"{o}m asked for the maximum number of edges in $G$ if there are no two cycles in $G$ with the same length. A simple counting argument shows that such…

Motivated by work of Haythorpe, Thomassen and the author showed that there exists a positive constant $c$ such that there is an infinite family of 4-regular 4-connected graphs, each containing exactly $c$ hamiltonian cycles. We complement…

Consider a family of graphs having a fixed girth and a large size. We give an optimal lower asymptotic bound on the number of even cycles of any constant length, as the order of the graphs tends to infinity.

The circumference $c(G)$ of a graph $G$ is the length of a longest cycle. By exploiting our recent results on resistance of snarks, we construct infinite classes of cyclically $4$-, $5$- and $6$-edge-connected cubic graphs with…

We prove that, for every natural number $k$, every sufficiently large 3-connected cubic planar graph has a cycle whose length is in $[k,2k+9]$. We also show that this bound is close to being optimal by constructing, for every even $k\geq…

There is a sizable literature on investigating the minimum and maximum numbers of cycles in a class of graphs. However, the answer is known only for special classes. This paper presents a result on the smallest number of cycles in…

A cycle $C$ of length $k$ in graph $G$ is extendable if there is another cycle $C'$ in $G$ with $V(C) \subset V(C')$ and length $k+1$. A graph is cycle extendable if every non-Hamiltonian cycle is extendable. In 1990 Hendry conjectured that…
