We show that there are at most finitely many one cusped orientable hyperbolic 3-manifolds which have more than eight non-hyperbolic Dehn fillings. Moreover, we show that determining these finitely many manifolds is decidable.

Let (M, g, omega) be a compact, almost-Kaehler Einstein 4-manifold of negative star-scalar curvature. Then (M, omega) is a MINIMAL symplectic 4-manifold of general type. In particular, M cannot be differentiably decomposed as a connected…

The waist size of a cusp in an orientable hyperbolic 3-manifold is the length of the shortest nontrivial curve generated by a parabolic isometry in the maximal cusp boundary. Previously, it was shown that the smallest possible waist size,…

We show that some hyperbolic 3-manifolds which are tessellated by copies of the regular ideal hyperbolic tetrahedron embed geodesically in a complete, finite volume, hyperbolic 4-manifold. This allows us to prove that the complement of the…

In this short article we give a criterion whether a given minimal symplectic 4-manifold with $b_{2}^{+}=1$ having a torsion-free canonical class is rational or ruled. As a corollary, we confirm that most of homotopy elliptic surfaces…

For each natural number n >= 4, we determine the unique lowest volume hyperbolic 3-orbifold whose torsion orders are bounded below by n. This lowest volume orbifold has base space the 3-sphere and singular locus the figure-8 knot, marked n.…

In this paper we derive an explicit lower bound on the volume of a hyperbolic $n$-orbifold for dimensions greater than or equal to four. Our main tool is H. C. Wang's bound on the radius of a ball embedded in the fundamental domain of a…

Ian Agol and Francesco Lin proved the existence of hyperbolic four-manifolds with vanishing Seiberg-Witten invariants. We prove that the number of such manifolds of volume at most $v$ is asymptotically bounded by $v^{cv}$ considered up to…

In 2010, Kerckhoff and Storm discovered a path of hyperbolic 4-polytopes eventually collapsing to an ideal right-angled cuboctahedron. This is expressed by a deformation of the inclusion of a discrete reflection group (a right-angled…

Symplectic 4-manifolds $(X,\omega)$ with $b_+{=}1$ are roughly classified by the canonical class $K$ and the symplectic form $\omega$ depending upon the sign of $K^2$ and $K\cdot \omega$. Examples are known for each category except for the…
