We provide inverse semigroup and groupoid models for the Toeplitz and Cuntz-Krieger algebras of finitely aligned higher-rank graphs. Using these models, we prove a uniqueness theorem for the Cuntz-Krieger algebra.

We show the reduced $C^*$-algebra of a graded ample groupoid is a strongly graded $C^*$-algebra if and only if the corresponding Steinberg algebra is a strongly graded ring. We apply this result to get a theorem about the Leavitt path…

Given an arbitrary graph, we describe the center of its Leavitt path algebra over a commutative unital ring. Our proof uses the Steinberg algebra model of the Leavitt path algebra. A key ingredient is a characterization of compact open…

We present a thorough study of the differential geometry of weightings and develop the theory of weightings for vector bundles, Lie groupoids, and Lie algebroids. We begin by extending the work of Loizides and Meinrenken on weighted…

We construct families of $k$-step nilpotent symplectic Lie algebras associated with graphs, extending the construction given in [Pouseele-Tirao, JPAA 213 (2009)] for the 2-step case. We also show that, under mild conditions on the…

We consider decompositions of digraphs into edge-disjoint paths and describe their connection with the $n$-th Weyl algebra of differential operators. This approach gives a graph-theoretic combinatorial view of the normal ordering problem…

We present a method for associating labeled directed graphs to finite-dimensional Lie algebras, thereby enabling rapid identification of key structural algebraic features. To formalize this approach, we introduce the concept of…

In this paper, we give a matrix-theoretic criterion for the Leavitt path algebra of a finite graph has Invariant Basis Number. Consequently, we show that the Cohn path algebra of a finite graph has Invariant Basis Number, as well as provide…

We introduce a new method of expressing a $k$-graph $C^*$-algebra as a Cuntz-Pimsner algebra. Kumjian, Pask, and Sims have done this directly, using a linking algebra approach and a $(k-1)$-graph algebra. This can be iterated downward. Our…
