In this short note, we provide an inequality that holds in any finite group, only involving the orders of the elements; we prove that equality holds if and only if the group is nilpotent.

We prove a $p$-nilpotency criterion for finite groups in terms of the element orders of its $p'$-reduced sections that extends a nilpotency criterion by T{\u{a}}rn{\u{a}}uceanu.

For a finite group $G$ and an element $x\in G$, the subset $$ nil_G(x)=\{y\in G \mid <x,y>~~ is ~~ nilpotent\}$$ is called nilpotentizer of $x$ in $G$. In this paper, we give two solvabilty criteria for a finite group by the structure and…

We prove several results detecting ciclicity or nilpotency of a finite group $G$ in terms of inequalities involving the orders of the elements of $G$ and the orders of the elements of the cyclic group of order $|G|$. We prove that, among…

Given a finite group $G$, we denote by $\nu(G)$ the probability that two randomly chosen elements of $G$ generate a nilpotent subgroup. We prove that if $\nu(G)>1/12,$ then $G$ is solvable.

Denote the sum of element orders in a finite group $G$ by $\psi(G)$ and let $C_n$ denote the cyclic group of order $n$. In this paper, we prove that if $|G|=n$ and $\psi(G)>\frac{13}{21}\,\psi(C_n)$, then $G$ is nilpotent. Moreover, we have…

In this paper, we introduce the relative $n$-tensor nilpotent degree of a finite group $G$ with respect to a subgroup $H$ of $G$. The aim of this paper is to investigate this concept and give some results on this topic.

A subgroup $H$ of a group $G$ is said to be an $IC\Phi$-subgroup of $G$ if $H \cap [H,G] \le \Phi(H)$. We analyze the structure of a finite group $G$ under the assumption that some given subgroups of $G$ are $IC\Phi$-subgroups of $G$. A new…

Let $G$ be a finite group and $S< G$. A cover for a group $G$ is a collection of subgroups of $G$ whose union is $G$. We use the term $n$-cover for a cover with $n$ members. A cover $\Pi =\{H_1, H_2, \dots, H_n\}$ is said to be a strict…

It is well known that if $G$ is a group and $H$ is a normal subgroup of $G$ of finite index $k$, then $x^k \in H$ for every $x \in G$. We examine finite groups $G$ with the property that $x^k \in H$ for every subgroup $H$ of $G$, where $k$…
