This paper gives a new elementary proof of the theorem that all vector bundles on $\mathbb P^1$ split into the direct sum of line bundles. The proof is based on the study of divisors associated to germs of sections at the generic point.
We survey some recent progress in the theory of vector bundles on algebraic varieties and related questions in algebraic K-theory.
We show that every orbispace satisfying certain mild hypotheses has 'enough' vector bundles. It follows that the K-theory of finite rank vector bundles on such orbispaces is a cohomology theory. Global presentation results for smooth…
For each simply connected, simple complex group $G$ we show that the direct sum of all vector bundles of conformal blocks on the moduli stack $\bar{\mathcal{M}}_{g, n}$ of stable marked curves carries the structure of a flat sheaf of…
We show that on a generic curve, a bundle obtained by successive extensions is stable. We compute the dimension of the set of such extensions. We use degeneration methods specializing the curve to a chain of elliptic components
In this article, we prove that any smooth projective variety $X$ which is a double cover of the projective space $\mathbb{P}^n$ ($n\geq 2$) admits an Ulrich bundle. When $n=2$, we show that on any such $X$, there is an Ulrich bundle of rank…
We study locally free sheaves of rank two on the projective line over the integers, especially indecomposable ones. Subsequently we apply various concepts of Arakelov geometry to these sheaves. We compute for example the arithmetic Chern…
Given a complex curve C of genus 2, there is a well-known relationship between the moduli space of rank 3 semistable bundles on C and a cubic hypersurface known as the Coble cubic. Some of the aspects of this is known to be related to the…
Finitely dominated chain complexes over a Laurent polynomial ring in one indeterminate are characterised by vanishing of their Novikov homology. We present an algebro-geometric approach to this result, based on extension of chain complexes…
We completely classify all quotient bundles of a given vector bundle on the Fargues-Fontaine curve. As consequences, we have two additional classification results: a complete classification of all vector bundles that are generated by a…
We provide a stacky fan description of the total space of certain split vector bundles, as well as their projectivization, over toric Deligne-Mumford stacks. We then specialize to the case of Hirzebruch orbifold $\mathcal{H}_{r}^{ab}$…
Quantum homogeneous vector bundles are introduced by a direct description of their sections in the context of Woronowicz type compact quantum groups. The bundles carry natural topologies inherited from the quantum groups, and their sections…
This is a survey article on recent results on vector bundles on symmetric product of non-singular projective curves.
For a vector bundle E on a model of a smooth projective curve over a p-adic number field a p-adic representation of the geometric fundamental group of X has been defined in work with Annette Werner if the reduction of E is strongly…
The purpose of this paper is to explore the geometry and establish the slope stability of tautological vector bundles on Hilbert schemes of points on smooth surfaces. By establishing stability in general we complete a series of results of…
In this article, we deal with the structure of the spherical Hall algebra of coherent sheaves with parabolic structures on a smooth projective curve of arbitrary genus. We provide a shuffle-like presentation of the vector bundle part and…
We give the classification of globally generated vector bundles of rank $2$ on a smooth quadric surface with $c_1\le (2,2)$ in terms of the indices of the bundles, and extend the result to arbitrary higher rank case. We also investigate…
We show in this paper that every bijective linear isometry between the continuous section spaces of two non-square Banach bundles gives rise to a Banach bundle isomorphism. This is to support our expectation that the geometric structure of…
Let X be a geometrically connected smooth projective curve of genus one, defined over the field of real numbers, such that X does not have any real points. We classify the isomorphism classes of all stable real algebraic vector bundles over…
We study the existence problem and the enumeration problem for sections of Serre fibrations over compact orientable surfaces. When the fundamental group of the fiber is finite, a complete solution is given in terms of 2-dimensional…
