We show that if $\mathfrak{g}$ is a Frobenius seaweed, then the spectrum of the adjoint of a principal element consists of an unbroken set of integers whose multiplicities have a symmetric distribution. Our methods are combinatorial.

Analogous to the Type-$A_{n-1}=\mathfrak{sl}(n)$ case, we show that if $\mathfrak{g}$ is a Frobenius seaweed subalgebra of $B_{n}=\mathfrak{so}(2n+1)$ or $C_{n}=\mathfrak{sp}(2n)$, then the spectrum of the adjoint of a principal element…

If $\mathfrak{g}$ is a Frobenius Lie algebra, then the spectrum of $\mathfrak{g}$ is an algebraic invariant equal to the multiset of eigenvalues corresponding to a particular operator acting on $\mathfrak{g}$. In the case of Frobenius…

We introduce the notion of the \textit{principal element} of a Frobenius Lie algebra $\f$. The principal element corresponds to a choice of $F\in \f^*$ such that $F[-,-]$ non-degenerate. In many natural instances, the principal element is…

We provide a recursive classification of meander graphs, showing that each meander is identified by a unique sequence of fundamental graph-theoretic moves. This sequence is called the meander's signature. The signature not only provides a…

We study the spectra of non-regular semisimple elements in irreducible representations of simple algebraic groups. More precisely, we prove that if G is a simply connected simple linear algebraic group and f is a non-trivial irreducible…

Let $\g$ be a simple Lie algebra of type A or C. We show that the coadjoint representation of any seaweed subalgebra of $\g$ has some properties similar to that of the adjoint representation of a reductive Lie algebra. Namely, a) the field…

We investigate the properties of principal elements of Frobenius Lie algebras, following the work of M. Gerstenhaber and A. Giaquinto. We prove that any Lie algebra with a left symmetric algebra structure can be embedded, in a natural way,…

The `spider theorem' for a general Frobenius algebra $A$, classifies all maps $A^{\otimes m}\to A^{\otimes n}$ that are built from the operations and, in a graphical representation, represented by a {\it connected} diagram. Here the algebra…

The index of a seaweed Lie algebra can be computed from its associated meander graph. We examine this graph in several ways with a goal of determining families of Frobenius (index zero) seaweed algebras. Our analysis gives two new families…

In 2000, Dergachev and Kirillov introduced subalgebras of "seaweed type" in $\mathfrak{gl}(n)$ and computed their index using certain graphs. In this article, those graphs are called type-A meander graphs. Then the subalgebras of seaweed…
