We show that not every family of generalized microscopic sets forms an ideal. Moreover, we prove that some of these families have some weaker additivity properties and some of them do not have even that.

Let $\mathscr{F}=(F_n)$ be a sequence of nonempty finite subsets of $\omega$ such that $\lim_n |F_n|=\infty$ and define the ideal $$\mathcal{I}(\mathscr{F}):=\left\{A\subseteq \omega: |A\cap F_n|/|F_n|\to 0~\mbox{as}~n\to \infty \right\}.$$…

The Mycielski ideal M_k is defined to consist of all sets A subseteq k^omega such that {f restriction X: f in A} not= k^X for all X in [omega]^{aleph_0}. It will be shown that the covering numbers for these ideals are all equal. However,…

We study the relationship between the sigma-ideal generated by closed measure zero sets and the ideals of null and meager sets. We show that the additivity of the ideal of closed measure zero sets is not bigger than covering for category.…

The main goal of this note is to prove the following theorem. If $A_n$ is a sequence of measurable sets in a $\sigma$-finite measure space $(X, \mathcal{A}, \mu)$ that covers $\mu$-a.e. $x \in X$ infinitely many times, then there exists a…

Let $\mathcal{I}$ be an analytic P-ideal [respectively, a summable ideal] on the positive integers and let $(x_n)$ be a sequence taking values in a metric space $X$. First, it is shown that the set of ideal limit points of $(x_n)$ is an…

A $\sigma$-ideal $\cal{I}$ on a set $X$ is supersaturated if for every family $\cal{F}$ of $\cal{I}$-positive sets with $|\cal{F}| < \mathrm{add}(\cal{I})$, there exists a countable set that meets every set in $\cal{F}$. We show that many…

We investigate the $\sigma$-porosity of certain known ideals of subsets of natural numbers. Porosity is a notion of smallness in metric spaces that is stronger than nowhere density. Analogously, $\sigma$-porosity is a strengthening of…

We study a strengthening of the notion of a perfectly meager set. We say that that a subset $A$ of a perfect Polish space $X$ is countably perfectly meager in $X$, if for every sequence of perfect subsets $\{P_n: n \in {\mathbb N}\}$ of…

For subsets of $\mathbb R^+ = [0,\infty)$ we introduce a notion of coherently porous sets as the sets for which the upper limit in the definition of porosity at a point is attained along the same sequence. We prove that the union of two…
