I discuss a comprehensive approach to the spacelike physics in high temperature QCD in three dimensions. The approach makes use of dimensional reduction. I suggest that this approach is useful for high temperature QCD in four dimensions.
The three-dimensional noncommutative supersymmetric QED is investigated within the superfield approach. We prove the absence of UV/IR mixing in the theory at any loop order and demonstrate its one-loop finiteness.
The effective field theory approach to high temperature field theory can be used to study the phase transition in theories with spontaneously broken symmetry. I construct a sequence of two effective three--dimensional field theories which…
It has been speculated that the CP symmetry of 4D SU(3) Yang-Mills theory at $\theta=\pi$ is spontaneously broken in the confined phase, and it is recovered precisely at the deconfining temperature. The direct simulation of the theory at…
Koopman-von Neumann in the 30's gave an operatorial formululation of Classical Mechanics. It was shown later on that this formulation could also be written in a path-integral form. We will label this functional approach as CPI (for…
EQCD is a 3D bosonic theory containing SU(3) and an adjoint scalar, which efficiently describes the infrared, nonperturbative sector of hot QCD and which is highly amenable to lattice study. We improve the matching between lattice and…
We formulate the three-body problem in one dimension in terms of the (Faddeev-type) integral equation approach. As an application, we develop a spinless, one-dimensional (1-D) model that mimics three-nucleon dynamics in one dimension. Using…
Non-compact QED3 is simulated both in the quenched and unquenched cases. In particular, we investigate the restoration of chiral symmetry at finite temperature. We also compute the zero temperature spectrum of the theory, including (in the…
The nonequilibrium dynamics of quantum fields is studied in inflationary cosmology, with particular emphasis on applications to the problem of post-inflation reheating. The Schwinger-Keldysh closed-time-path (CTP) formalism is utilized…
The vacuum Gowdy models provide much studied, non-trivial midi-superspace examples. Various technical issues within Loop Quantum Gravity can be studied in these models as well as one can hope to understand singularities and their resolution…
In this contribution, we discuss three situations in which complete integrability of a three dimensional classical system and its quantum version can be achieved under some conditions. The former is a system with axial symmetry. In the…

We use dimensional regularization to evaluate quantum mechanical path integrals in arbitrary curved spaces on an infinite time interval. We perform 3-loop calculations in Riemann normal coordinates, and 2-loop calculations in general…
Motivated by the growing interest in self-correcting quantum memories, we study the feasibility of self-correction in classical lattice systems composed of bounded degrees of freedom with local interactions. We argue that self-correction,…
We present a complete system of inequalities for the inradius, circumradius, and diameter in the $3$-dimensional Euclidean space. To do so, we prove quasiconcavity of the inradius evaluated over $n$-simplices with a common facet…
We establish a close relation between the spatial string tension of the (3+1)-dimensional $SU(3)$ gauge theory at finite temperature ($\sigma_s$) and the string tension of the 3-dimensional $SU(3)$ gauge theory ($\sigma_3$) which is similar…
Within the superfield formalism, we study the ultraviolet properties of the three-dimensional supersymmetric quantum electrodynamics. The theory is shown to be finite at all loops orders in a particular gauge.
Using the Coulomb gauge formulation of QED we present a lattice QCD procedure to calculate the $\pi^+\pi^+$ scattering phase shift including the effects of the Coulomb potential which appears in this formulation. The approach described here…
We investigate color superfluidity and trimer formation in resonantly interacting SU(3) Fermi gases with a finite interaction range. The finite range is crucial to avoid the Thomas collapse and treat the Efimov effect occurring in this…
Using the background field technique, we calculate the 3-loop beta function of lattice $SU(N)$ gauge theories. In the pure gluonic case, we present our results, comparing to those recently obtained by Luescher and Weisz. We also provide a…
