We discuss the classification of good Z-gradings of basic Lie superalgebras. This problem arose in connection to W-algebras, where good Z-gradings play a role in their construction.

We study and give a complete classification of good $\ZZ$-gradings of all simple finite-dimensional Lie algebras. This problem arose in the quantum Hamiltonian reduction for affine Lie algebras.

Let g be a finite dimensional semisimple Lie algebra over C and e be a nilpotent element. Elashvili and Kac have recently classified all good Z-gradings for e. We instead consider good R-gradings, which are naturally parameterized by an…

We classify simple linearly compact n-Lie superalgebras with n>2 over a field F of characteristic 0. The classification is based on a bijective correspondence between non-abelian n-Lie superalgebras and transitive Z-graded Lie superalgebras…

We use affine W-algebras to quantize Mishchenko-Fomenko subalgebras for centralizers of nilpotent elements in simple Lie algebras under certain assumptions that are satisfied for all cases in type A and all minimal nilpotent cases outside…

A thin Lie algebra is a Lie algebra graded over the positive integers satisfying a certain narrowness condition. We describe several cyclic grading of the modular Hamiltonian Lie algebras $H(2\colon\n;\omega_2)$ (of dimension one less than…

We classify gradings by arbitrary abelian groups on the classical simple Lie superalgebras $P(n)$, $n \geq 2$, and on the simple associative superalgebras $M(m,n)$, $m, n \geq 1$, over an algebraically closed field: fine gradings up to…

For any finitely generated abelian group $Q$, we reduce the problem of classification of $Q$-graded simple Lie algebras over an algebraically closed field of "good" characteristic to the problem of classification of gradings on simple Lie…

The fine abelian group gradings on the simple classical Lie algebras (including D4) over algebraically closed fields of characteristic 0 are determined up to equivalence. This is achieved by assigning certain invariant to such gradings that…

The Z-grading determined by a long simple root of an affine or finite type Lie algebra arises from an adjoint or cominuscule representation of a lower rank semi-simple complex Lie algebra. Analysis of the relationship between the grading…
