The 1/m corrections to heavy baryon masses are calculated from the QCD sum rules within the framework of the heavy quark effective theory. Numerical results for the heavy baryons are obtained. The implications of the results are discussed.

In previous papers we have pointed out that there exists a QCD analog of the phenomenological concept of the so called Fermi motion for the heavy quark inside a hadron. Here we show in a more detailed way how this comes about and we analyze…

Parton distribution functions are key quantities for us to understand the hadronic structures in high-energy scattering, but they are difficult to calculate from lattice QCD. Recent years have seen fast development of the large-momentum…

We present a detailed analysis of the use of heavy quark fragmentation into heavy hadrons for testing the heavy quark effective theory through comparison of the measured fragmentation parameters of the $c$ and $b$ quarks. Our analysis is…

Achievements in the heavy quark theory over the last decade are reviewed, with the main emphasis put on dynamical methods which quantify nonperturbative effects via application of the Operator Product Expansion. These include the total weak…

We give an introduction to the heavy-quark effective theory and the $1/m_Q$ expansion, which provide the modern framework for a systematic, model-independent description of the properties and decays of hadrons containing a heavy quark. We…

We report the first Dyson-Schwinger equation predictions for the leading-twist distribution amplitudes of the $B^*$, $B_s^*$, and $B_c^*$ mesons, and extend the investigation to a broader set of heavy-light pseudo-scalar/vector mesons.…

The parton distribution functions (PDFs) of heavy mesons are evaluated from their light-front wave functions, which are obtained from a basis light-front quantization in the leading Fock sector representation. We consider the mass…

The perturbative QCD calculation of heavy quark fragmentation into a heavy meson is extended to predict fragmentation into heavy flavor baryons. This is accomplished by implementing the quark-diquark model of the baryons. Several diquark…
