We formulate the Josephson effect in a field theoretic language which affords a straightforward generalization to the non-abelian case. We give some examples and apply the formalism to the case of SO(5) superconductivity.

We investigate the non-Abelian Josephson effect in spinor Bose-Einstein condensates with double optical traps. We propose, for the first time, a real physical system which contains non-Abelian Josephson effects. The collective modes of this…

The Josephson effect is generally described as Cooper pair tunneling, but it can also be understood in a more general context. The DC Josephson effect is the pseudo-Goldstone boson of two coupled systems with a broken continuous abelian…

We write down a theory for non-Abelian superfluids with a partially broken (semisimple) Lie group. We adapt the offshell formalism of hydrodynamics to superfluids and use it to comment on the superfluid transport compatible with the second…

The Josephson effect is a prominent phenomenon of quantum supercurrents that has been widely studied in superconductors and superfluids. Typical Josephson junctions consist of two real-space superconductors (superfluids) coupled through a…

The Josephson effect is a macroscopic quantum tunneling phenomenon in a system with superfluid property, when it is split into two parts by a barrier. Here, we examine the Josephson effect in a driven-dissipative supersolid realized by…

A Josephson junction is made of two superconductors sandwiching an insulator, and a Josephson vortex is a magnetic vortex (flux tube) absorbed into the Josephson junction, whose dynamics can be described by the sine-Gordon equation. In a…
