Zero-field magnetic structure of the antiferromagnetic metal EuSnP
Abstract
We investigated the zero-field magnetic structure of the antiferromagnetic metal EuSnP through single-crystal neutron diffraction experiments. The magnetic propagation vector in the magnetically ordered phase was determined to be , indicating that commensurate antiferromagnetic ordering is realized in this material. The detailed magnetic structure analysis revealed a collinear A-type antiferromagnetic structure with ferromagnetic alignment of Eu moments within the Eu--P layer. The present findings provide a microscopic basis for understanding the intriguing magnetic behaviors of EuSnP, as exemplified by the multiple metamagnetic transitions in the antiferromagnetic state and the strong pressure dependence of the magnetic transition temperature.
