Abstract

The vortex transport entropy in the mixed state of the cuprate superconductors YBa $_2$ Cu $_3$ O $_{7-{\delta}}$ and Bi $_2$ Sr $_2$ CaCu $_2$ O $_{8+x}$ at the maximum Nernst or Ettingshausen signal below $T_c$ is discussed. The vortex transport entropy per CuO $_2$ double layer in the cuprate epitaxial films is found to be close to the Boltzmann constant.
