The Temperature Echo of the Superconducting Phase Transition

Superconductivity 2007-05-23 v2

Abstract

An analysis of experimental heat capacity at T>TcT>T_{c} is presented for series of samples (R)Ba2Cu3O6+x(R)Ba_2Cu_3O_{6+x} (with xx close to optimal). For all samples the anomaly was discovered which occurred steadily in the interval 250-290 K (anomaly ThT_{h}). The anomaly ThT_{h} looks like a phase transition anomaly. It was shown that the anomaly ThT_{h} correlates with superconducting anomaly TcT_c, temperatures ThT_{h} and TcT_{c} being connected by the ratio Th3TcT_{h}\approx 3T_c. The anomaly ThT_{h} is interpreted as the origination of pairing the charge carriers. Anomalies at T3TcT\approx 3T_c were also detected in heat capacity of low temperature superconductors HgHg and Nb3GeNb_3Ge.
