The Non-Abelian Tensor Square of Finite Metacyclic Groups

Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the group ν(G)\nu(G), an extension of the non-abelian tensor square GG by the direct product G×GG\times G, in order to determine a presentation of GGG \otimes G when GG is a general finite metacyclic group, G=g(a,b;m,n,r,s)G=g(a,b; m,n, r, s), with mm odd. A presentation of ν(G)\nu(G) is obtained from that of GG and, consequently, we describe the appropriate relevant sections of ν(G)\nu(G), such as the non-abelian tensor square, the exterior square GGG \wedge G and the Schur multiplier, M(G)M(G).
