The complement of M(a) in H(b)

Abstract

Let bb be a nonextreme function in the unit ball of HH^{\infty} on the unit disk D\mathbb{D} and let aa be an outer HH^{\infty} function such that a2+b2=1|a|^2+|b|^2=1 almost everywhere on D\partial \mathbb{D}. The sufficient and necessary conditions for the orthogonal complement of M(a)\mathcal{M}(a) in H(b)\mathcal{H}(b) be finite dimensional has been given by D. Sarason . Here we describe this space explicitly.
