The alternating central extension of the Onsager Lie algebra

Quantum Algebra 2021-04-19 v1

Abstract

The Onsager Lie algebra OO is often used to study integrable lattice models. The universal enveloping algebra of OO admits a qq-deformation OqO_q called the qq-Onsager algebra. Recently, an algebra Oq\mathcal O_q was introduced called the alternating central extension of OqO_q. In this paper we introduce a Lie algebra O\mathcal O that is roughly described by the following two analogies: (i) O\mathcal O is to OO as Oq\mathcal O_q is to OqO_q; (ii) OqO_q is to OO as Oq\mathcal O_q is to O\mathcal O. We call O\mathcal O the alternating central extension of OO. This paper contains a comprehensive description of O\mathcal O.
