Symmetric matrices defined by plane vector sequences

Abstract

Motivated by a work of Fu-So-Song, we associate a symmetric matrix AA to a plane vector sequence vv and give a formula to find the signature of AA in terms of the sequence vv. When AA is nonsingular, we interpret the relation between AA and A1A^{-1} from a topological viewpoint. Finally, we associate an omnioriented quasitoric orbifold XX of real dimension four to the sequence vv and show that A1A^{-1} is the intersection matrix of the characteristic suborbifolds of XX.
