Study of charmonium decays at BESIII

High Energy Physics - Experiment 2013-11-07 v1

Abstract

Based on the data samples collected at the energies of J/ψJ/\psi, ψ(3686)\psi(3686), ψ(3770)\psi(3770) and ψ(4040)\psi(4040) resonances with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring, we present charmonium decays in two aspects. One is the search for baryonic decays of ψ(3770)\psi(3770) and ψ(4040)\psi(4040), including ΛΛˉπ+π\Lambda \bar\Lambda\pi^+\pi^-, ΛΛˉπ0\Lambda\bar\Lambda\pi^0, ΛΛˉη\Lambda \bar\Lambda\eta, Σ+Σˉ\Sigma^+ \bar\Sigma^-, Σ0Σˉ0\Sigma^0 \bar\Sigma^0, ΞΞˉ+\Xi^-\bar\Xi^+ and Ξ0Ξˉ0\Xi^0\bar\Xi^0. None are observed, and upper limits are set at the 90% confidence level. The other is the light hadron spectroscopy from charmonium radiative decays, including the spin-parity analysis of the ppˉp\bar p mass-threshold enhancement in J/ψJ/\psi radiative decays and the ηη\eta\eta system in J/ψγηηJ/\psi\to\gamma\eta\eta radiative decays.
