Strong and radiative decays of the doubly charmed baryons

Abstract

We have systematically studied the strong and radiative decays of the low-lying 1P1P-wave doubly charmed baryons. Some interesting observations are: (i) The states Ξcc\Xi_{cc}^* and Ωcc\Omega_{cc}^* with JP=3/2+J^P=3/2^+ have a fairly large decay rate into the Ξccγ\Xi_{cc}\gamma and Ωccγ\Omega_{cc}\gamma channels with a width 15\sim 15 and 7\sim7 keV, respectively. (ii) The lowest lying excited doubly charmed baryons are dominated by the 1P1P ρ\rho mode excitations, which should be quite narrow states. They decay into the ground state with JP=1/2+J^P=1/2^+ through the radiative transitions with a significant ratio. (iii) The total decay widths of the first orbital excitations of λ\lambda mode (1Pλ1P_{\lambda} states with JP=1/2J^P=1/2^-, 3/23/2^-, 5/25/2^-) are about Γ100\Gamma\sim100 MeV, and the ratio between the radiative and hadronic decay widths is about O(103)\mathcal{O}(10^{-3}).
