Status of the hyperon-nucleon interaction in chiral effective field theory

Nuclear Theory 2022-11-30 v1

Abstract

The J\"ulich-Bonn group aims at an extensive study of the baryon-baryon (BBBB) interaction involving strange baryons (Λ\Lambda, Σ\Sigma, Ξ\Xi) within SU(3) chiral effective field theory. An overview of achievements and new developments over the past few years is provided. The topics covered are: 1) Derivation of the leading charge-symmetry breaking (CSB) interaction for the ΛN\Lambda N system and its application in a study of CSB effects in AA=44 Λ\Lambda-hypernuclei. 2) Updated results for the ΞN\Xi N interaction at NLO and predictions for Ξp\Xi^- p correlation functions. 3) Extension of the ΛN\Lambda N-ΣN\Sigma N interaction to next-to-next-to-leading order.
