Spin dimers under staggered and random field in Cu$_2$Fe$_2$Ge$_4$O$_{13}

Abstract
We study S=1/2 dimer excitation in a coupled chain and dimer compound Cu2Fe2Ge4O13byinelasticneutronscatteringtechnique.TheZeemansplitofthedimertripletbyastaggeredfieldisobservedatlowtemperature.Withtheincreaseoftemperaturetheeffectofrandomfieldisdetectedbyadrasticbroadeningofthetripletexcitation.BasicdynamicsofdimerinthestaggeredandrandomfieldsareexperimentallyidentifiedinCu_2Fe_2Ge_4O_{13}.
