Short Range Structure in the X(3872)

High Energy Physics - Phenomenology 2008-11-26 v2

Abstract

It is proposed that the newly discovered X(3872) is a JPC=1++J^{PC} = 1^{++} D0Dˉ0D^0\bar D^{0*} hadronic resonance stabilized by admixtures of ωJ/ψ\omega J/\psi and ρJ/ψ\rho J/\psi. A specific model of the state is constructed and tests of its internal structure are suggested via the predicted decay modes D0Dˉ0π0D^0\bar D^0\pi^0, D0Dˉ0γD^0\bar D^0\gamma, π+πJ/ψ\pi^+\pi^- J/\psi, and π+ππ0J/ψ\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 J/\psi.
