Shifted-prime divisors

Number Theory 2024-03-20 v5

Abstract

Let ω(n)\omega^*(n) denote the number of divisors of nn that are shifted primes, that is, the number of divisors of nn of the form p1p-1, with pp prime. Studied by Prachar in an influential paper from 70 years ago, the higher moments of ω(n)\omega^*(n) are still somewhat a mystery. This paper addresses these higher moments and considers other related problems.
