Relativity, chiral symmetry, and the nucleon electromagnetic form factors

Nuclear Theory 2007-05-23 v1

Abstract

A relativistic interpretation for why the proton's GE/GMG_E/G_M falls and QF2/F1QF_2/F_1 is approximately constant is presented. Reproducing the observed GEnG_E^n mandates the inclusion of the effects of the pion cloud. The full relativistic model with a pion cloud provides a good reproduction of all of the nucleon electromagnetic form factors.
