Quasiconformal extension of strongly spirallike functions

Complex Variables 2011-01-21 v1

Abstract

We show that a strongly λ\lambda-spirallike function of order α\alpha can be extended to a sin(πα/2)\sin(\pi\alpha/2)-quasiconformal automorphism of the complex plane for π/2<λ<π/2-\pi/2<\lambda<\pi/2 and 0<α<10<\alpha<1 with λ<πα/2.|\lambda|<\pi\alpha/2. In order to prove it, we provide several geometric characterizations of a strongly λ\lambda-spirallike domain of order α.\alpha. We also give a concrete form of the mapping function of the standard strongly λ\lambda-spirallike domain Uλ,αU_{\lambda,\alpha} of order α.\alpha. A key tool of the present study is the notion of λ\lambda-argument, which was developed by Y. C. Kim and the author.
