Power-Law Running of the Higgs Mass

High Energy Physics - Phenomenology 2026-03-25 v3 High Energy Physics - Theory

Abstract

The renormalized scalar mass squared is a function of the energy scale and power-runs as its square: it is O(MGUT2)(M_{GUT}^2) at MGUT2M_{GUT}^2 and O(mW2)(m_W^2) at mW2m_W^2. The 28 orders of discrepancy is naturally explained by the loop-correction factor of the Standard Model, dominated by the top quark Yukawa coupling 16π2/(Ncyt2ln10)16\pi^2/(N_c y_t^2 \ln10).
