Poisson distribution of a prime counting function corresponding to elliptic curves

Abstract

Let EE be an elliptic curve defined over rational field Q\mathbb{Q} and NN be a positive integer. Now, ME(N)M_E(N) denotes the number of primes pp, such that the group Ep(Fp)E_p(\mathbb{F}_p) is of order NN. We show that ME(N)M_E(N) follows Poisson distribution when an average is taken over a large class of curves.
