Perspectives on Nodal Superconductors

Superconductivity 2009-09-29 v2

Abstract

In the last few years the gap symmetries of many new superconductors, including Sr2_2RuO4_4, CeCoIn5_5, κ\kappa-(ET)2_{2}Cu(NCS)2_{2}, YNi2_{2}B2_{2}C and PrOs4_{4}Sb12_{12}, have been identified via angle-dependent magnetothermal conductivity measurements. However, a controversy still persists as to the nature of the superconductivity in Sr2_2RuO4_4. For PrOs4_{4}Sb12_{12}, spin-triplet superconductivity has recently been proposed. Here, we also propose g-wave superconductivity for UPd2_2Al3_3 (i.e., Δ(k)=Δcos(2χ),χ=ckz\Delta({\bf k})=\Delta\cos(2\chi), \chi = ck_{z}) based on recent thermal conductivity data.
