Particle Dark Matter in DAMA/LIBRA

Cosmology and Nongalactic Astrophysics 2010-07-06 v1 High Energy Physics - Phenomenology

Abstract

The present DAMA/LIBRA experiment and the former DAMA/NaI have cumulatively released so far the results obtained with the data collected over 13 annual cycles (total exposure: 1.17 ton ×\times yr). They give a model independent evidence of the presence of DM particles in the galactic halo on the basis of the DM annual modulation signature at 8.9 σ\sigma C.L. for the cumulative exposure.

Contribution to the Vulcano Workshop 2010 "Frontier Objects in Astrophysics and Particle Physics", Vulcano (Italy) May 2010. Recent DAMA/LIBRA results are summarized; some misleading arguments recently addressed are also quantitatively commented and erased
