Orbits of Lie Group Actions are Weakly Embedded

Abstract

In this note we prove that whenever a Lie group GG acts on a manifold XX, then the orbit GxGx through any point xx of XX is a weakly embedded submanifold of XX. The investigation of this problem was inspired by an application to Cat astrophe Theory.
