Optimal divisions of a convex body

Metric Geometry 2023-11-27 v1

Abstract

For a convex body CC in Rd\mathbb{R}^d and a division of CC into convex subsets C1,,CnC_1,\ldots,C_n, we can consider max{F(C1),,F(Cn)}max\{F(C_1),\ldots, F(C_n)\} (respectively, min{F(C1),,F(Cn)}min\{F(C_1),\ldots, F(C_n)\}), where FF represents one of these classical geometric magnitudes: the diameter, the minimal width, or the inradius. In this work we study the divisions of CC minimizing (respectively, maximizing) the previous value, as well as other related questions.
