On triviality of reduced Whitehead group over Henselian fields

Abstract

Let FF be a Henselian field of qq-cohomological dimension 33, where qq is a prime. Let ΓF\Gamma_F be the totally ordered abelian value group of FF and let DD be a central division algebra over FF of index a power of qq such that the characteristic of the residue field, F\overline{F} is coprime to qq. We show that when 1dimFq(ΓF/qΓF)31\leq\dim_{\mathbb{F}_q}(\Gamma_F/q\Gamma_F)\leq 3, the reduced Whitehead group of DD is trivial.
