On the Glauberman-Solomon Theorem

Abstract
We give a self contained and concise proof of the following result, which was first proved by Glauberman as his -Theorem. Let be an odd prime and a -group. Then there exists a characteristic subgroup of with the property: whenever is a finite -free group of characteristic and is a Sylow subgroup of then .
