On Test of CPT Symmetry in CP Violating B Decays

Abstract

Considering that the existing experimental limit for CPTCPT violation is still poor, we explore various possible ways to test CPTCPT symmetry in CPCP-violating BB decays at e+ee^{+}e^{-} BB factories and hadron machines. We find that it is difficult to distinguish between the effect of direct CPCP violation and that of CPTCPT violation in the time-integrated measurements of neutral BB decays to CPCP eigenstates such as ψKS\psi K_{S} and π+π\pi^{+}\pi^{-}. Instead, a cleaner signal of small CPTCPT violation may appear in the time-integrated CPCP asymmetries for a few non-CPCP-eigenstate channels, e.g., Bd0/Bˉd0D±πB^{0}_{d}/\bar{B}^{0}_{d}\rightarrow D^{\pm}\pi^{\mp} and D()\stackrel{(-)}{D}()0KS^{(*)0}K_{S}. The time-dependent measurements of CPCP asymmetries are available, in principle, to limit the size of CPTCPT-violating effects in neutral BB-meson decays.
