High Energy Physics - Phenomenology 2007-05-23 v1

Abstract

It is shown that in general the gauge given by the limit of ξ0\xi \to 0 in RξR_\xi gauge does not necessarily agree with the unitary gauge by examining the symmetry breaking of two steps from SU(3)U(1)N{\rm SU(3) \otimes U(1)}_N to SU(2)U(1)Y{\rm SU(2) \otimes U(1)}_Y and then to U(1)em{\rm U(1)}_{em}.
