On line bundles in derived algebraic geometry

Algebraic Geometry 2020-06-24 v1 K-Theory and Homology

Abstract

We give examples of derived schemes XX and a line bundle \Ls\Ls on the truncation tXtX so that \Ls\Ls does not extend to the original derived scheme XX. In other words the pullback map \Pic(X)\Pic(tX)\Pic(X) \to \Pic(tX) is not surjective. Our examples have the further property that, while their truncations are projective hypersurfaces, they fail to have any nontrivial line bundles, and hence they are not quasi-projective.
