On a variant of Pillai's problem with transcendental numbers

Abstract

In this paper, we study the asymptotic behaviour of the number of solutions (m,n)N2(m, n)\in \mathbb{N}^2 to the inequality αnβmx | \alpha^n - \beta^m | \leq x when xx tends to infinity. Here α,β\alpha, \beta are given multiplicatively independent complex numbers with α>1|\alpha| > 1 and β>1|\beta|>1.
