On $(1,2)$-step competition graphs of multipartite tournaments

Combinatorics 2024-02-20 v2

Abstract

A multipartite tournament is an orientation of a complete kk-partite graph for some positive integer k3k\geq 3. We say that a multipartite tournament DD is tight if every partite set forms a clique in the (1,2)(1,2)-step competition graph, denoted by C1,2(D)C_{1,2}(D), of DD. In this paper, we completely characterize C1,2(D)C_{1,2}(D) for a tight multipartite tournament DD. We will study C1,2(D)C_{1,2}(D) for a multipartite tournament DD that is not tight in a follow up paper.
