Normalizers and centralizers of $p$-subgroups in normal subsystems of fusion systems

Abstract

Suppose E\mathcal{E} is a normal subsystem of a saturated fusion system F\mathcal{F} over SS. If XSX\leq S is fully F\mathcal{F}-normalized, then Aschbacher defined a normal subsystem NE(X)N_{\mathcal{E}}(X) of NF(X)N_{\mathcal{F}}(X). In this short note we revisit and generalize this result using the theory of localities. Our more general approach leads in particular to a normal subsystem CE(X)C_{\mathcal{E}}(X) of CF(X)C_{\mathcal{F}}(X) for every XSX\leq S which is fully F\mathcal{F}-centralized.
