NGC 488: Has its massive bulge been build up by minor mergers?

Abstract
Using recent observations of the kinematics of the disk stars the dynamical state of the disk of NGC 488 is discussed. The disk is shown to be dynamically `cool', so that NGC 488 cannot have experienced many -- even minor -- mergers in the past.
