New Strategies to Extract Weak Phases from Neutral B Decays

High Energy Physics - Phenomenology 2010-11-23 v1

Abstract

We discuss new, theoretically clean strategies to determine the angle γ\gamma of the unitarity triangle from BdDKS(L)B_d\to DK_{S(L)}, BsDη(),Dϕ,...B_s\to D\eta^{(')}, D\phi, ... decays, and point out that the BsDKS(L)B_s\to DK_{S(L)} and BdDπ0,Dρ0,...B_d\to D\pi^0, D\rho^0, ... modes allow very interesting determinations of the Bq0B^0_q--Bq0ˉ\bar{B^0_q} mixing phases ϕs\phi_s and ϕd\phi_d, respectively. Their colour-allowed counterparts BsDs()±K,...B_s\to D_s^{(*)\pm} K^\mp, ... and BdD()±π,...B_d\to D^{(*)\pm} \pi^\mp, ... also offer new methods to probe γ\gamma.
