Measurements of B^0 decays to pi^+pi^-pi^0

High Energy Physics - Experiment 2007-05-23 v1

Abstract

We present preliminary results of searches for exclusive B0B^0 decays to π+ππ0\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 among 22.7 million bbˉb\bar{b} pairs collected by the BABAR experiment from electron-positron collisions near the Υ(4S)\Upsilon(4S) resonance. We measure B(ρπ±)=(28.9±5.4±4.3)×106\cal{B}(\rho^\mp \pi^\pm) = (28.9\pm 5.4\pm 4.3)\times 10^{-6}, and find no evidence for the presence of any other decay mode in the π+ππ0\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 Dalitz plot. Upper limits are determined for the branching fractions of B0ρ0π0B^0\to\rho^0\pi^0, non-resonant B0B^0 decays to π+ππ0\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 and of several discrete regions of π+ππ0\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 phase-space. We also measure the direct CP-violating asymmetry between the rates of untagged ρ+π\rho^+\pi^- and ρπ+\rho^-\pi^+, finding no significant evidence for an effect.
